Chief Private Sector Fund Raising, P-4


Purpose
Under the supervision of Chief of Communication, the incumbent is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the Thailand Country Office (TCO) in the areas of Fundraising and Corporate Engagement, in accordance with the five-year plan, also further develop the Country operations with regard to the areas of Strategic Planning, Operational Excellence, (especially regarding dealings with Corporations and third-party suppliers), and staff training, delegation and
motivation.
You will put into place and strengthen operational enhancements that will result in succession planning for each post, and appropriate supervision and training to develop staff skills and capacity. You will champion Private Sector Fund Raising (PSFR) within the Office, smoothing departmental interaction.
You will coach and direct relevant TCO staff in the development of corporate engagement strategies aimed at actively engaging with private sector companies in Thailand to leverage and mobilize increased resources for children and influence corporate practices for improved results for children.
The incumbent will plan and facilitate in staff development of PSFR team on required skills and tools.
Qualification
Advanced university degree in Business Administration, preferably in marketing, or resource mobilization. Subsequent professional qualification in fundraising and / or marketing ideal.*
Eight years of professional experience in managing an objective and budget-based business, and managing teams to deliver on financial outcomes. Professional Experience in combination of commercial marketing experience and fundraising experience would be ideal, especially experience in relationship management in either a fundraising or a commercial marketing setting. Significant experience in managing partnerships/engagement between corporate sector partners; experience in the area of corporate social responsibility is a plus.
Familiarity with various fundraising techniques, i.e. direct mail, corporate partnerships, telephone marketing, face-to-face campaigns, etc., is essential, as is experience in effectively dealing with suppliers and agencies.
Must have managed and trained staff, be a skilled delegator and able to see the bigger picture.
Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
*A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Key Expected Results:
• Develop training plan to build capacity and coach the relevant TCO staff on Corporate Engagement techniques and approaches to help mobilize/leverage greater resources for children from the corporate sector, and positively influence corporate practices as they relate to children.
• Provide technical support and oversee the performance of fundraising work plans against the strategic plan and budget, making sure that areas are resourced according to results, and that new initiatives and testing are planned and implemented in a systematic and measurable way. • Ensure that appropriate global PSFR learning and directives are implemented, and that operation is maximizing income in an effective and cost-efficient manner. • In collaboration with UNICEF team, develop professional relationship with suppliers in order to promote excellence in briefings, and effectively manage all aspects of campaigns in timely manner, to the satisfaction of all parties both internal, and external.
• Provide Technical Support, operation oversight and Coach Fundraising Specialist and PSFR team Ensure the effective operation of the section, key areas are focused Undertake effective management of budget, resources and manpower to reflect office’s key strategic priorities are focused • Direct and oversee the PSFR team in the development of fundraising plans that fit the TCO overall five- year plan and global PSFR strategies, ensuring they are based on sound strategies, previous results and analysis. • Review and Evaluate performance in coordination with PSFR Team to improve the monitoring and recommend changes to plans as needed.
