Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research Recruitment 2011


IGIDR invites applications from well qualified and experienced persons for the following posts on contract basis initially for a period of two years which may be extendable :
1}Communications Manager cum Editor: 1 post
a. Qualification, Experience : The applicant must hold a Masters Degree, preferably in a communication related subject with specialization in Journalism from a reputed University with minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in field of communications and ability to demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communication activities – media,websites, publications, marketing, social media, events etc. Proven and demonstrable experience of working with wide range of media, developing media strategies and relations, preparing press releases etc. Experience working with e-communications,including preparing and sending e-bulletins, supporter updates etc. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organization and externally.
b. Nature of Job:
? To assist on the development and implementation of communications strategy.
? To develop and execute IGIDR’s media strategy across all media, including
press, broadcast and publication to raise IGIDR’s profile and communicate
IGIDR’s activities (including international programmes, recruitment, etc.)
? To assist on copy-writing and production of key IGIDR’s publications including Annual Report, quarterly news bulletin etc.
? To take responsibility for the development and management of IGIDR’s website, including keeping content up to date and appropriate, making improvements and functionality and advising colleagues on maximizing its potential.
? Edits and prepares manuscripts on two levels: (1) copy editing (employing skills that assure consistency and accuracy within a manuscript regarding grammar, punctuation, syntax, and acceptable institution style); and (2) substantive editing,requiring critical sense and intuitive evaluation of factual accuracy and consistency of information – chronology of events, overall consistency of subject matter; verification of facts, rearrangement or deletion of material, analysis of data, and evaluation of documentation as to accuracy and thoroughness.
c. Desirable: Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of oral and written communications and interpersonal relations skills in order to determine the most effective proposals.
2}Assistant Administrative Officer (HR): 1 post
a. Qualification, Experience : The applicant must be a Post Graduate / MBA in HR Management. Should have demonstrated initiative, leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication skills in English (Both oral and written). Should have 2 to 5 years of experience in related areas or areas in which communication skill is demonstrated. AAO (HR) would be responsible for implementation of IGIDR’s approved HR and administrative policies and procedures. The incumbent has to actively interact with the Faculty,
Administration and other staff members. He/she will provide leadership in ensuring equity and transparency in application of the policies.
b. Nature of Job:
? Assisting the management in various HR and administrative processes such as planning manpower needs of the organisation;
? Developing and implementing efficient recruitment and appointment processes in the organisation and instituting suitable induction programs;
? Effective implementation of performance appraisal processes and administering the compensation policies;
? Developing and implementing appropriate Training programs for the employees;
? Promoting employee relations, team building, recognition and reward programs, and career planning for staff;
? Implementing efficient leave and attendance procedures, promotions and
reassignments, as well as retirement processes;
? Recommending appropriate improvements in internal HR and administrative
processes; and
? Leading special projects in HR related matters
? Assist in all matters relating to administration and legal processes
? Assist in matters relating to the corporate function of the Institute.
3}Assistant Administrative Officer (Events and External Relations) : 1 post
a. Qualification, Experience : The applicant must have a Post graduate Degree. Should have demonstrated initiative, leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication skills in English (Both oral and written). Should have at least 2 to 5 years of experience in related areas or areas in which communication skill is demonstrated. The incumbent has to actively interact with faculty, Administration and other staff members.
b. Nature of Job:
?Arranging for venues, interacting with sponsors, media and guests.
?Responsible for the entire logistic arrangements.
?Work closely with internal and external event planning committees and clients groups to define event goals, objectives and specific implementation plans that promote the organisation’s brand.
?Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost
? and highest quality of services.
?Arranging the invitation design, banners and communicating to guests.
4}Civil Engineer : 2 posts
a. Qualification , Experience : The applicant must be a Post graduate / graduate in Civil / Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 to 5 years of experience in maintaining large campuses . The job requires a hands-on approach and excellent co-ordination skills for maintaining the entire campus.
b. Nature of Job:
He will advise the management on various routine issues related to Estate, Maintenance, Tendering and for new project development in the campus. He should be fluent in labour contracts, contractual works undertaken by the Institute for maintaining the premises, office area and residential quarters etc of the Institute etc.,. He must be well versed with the relevant Statutory Acts , Labour Laws etc . He will have to take up follow up actions wherever necessary , with statutory bodies like the BMC etc.
General Information:
a. Contract appointment: All the above posts are on contract basis initially for a period of two years which is extendable .
b. Age : For all the above posts is 30 to 45 years
c. Remuneration : Remuneration will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
